What I Offer
Tired of trying to fit in food prep? Disappointed in restaurant options?
This is a great option for busy households. It can cost less per meal than most restaurant meals depending on your menu choices, and I will customize a menu according to your dietary needs.
How in house personal chef services Work:
(740) 370-6347
We sit down together and you tell me you and your family’s likes, dislikes, allergies, and other special dietary needs. With your help, I plan a dinner menu for a either a week, two weeks or a month. We can do three meals, four meals or five meals. If you are on a special diet, I will need your doctor’s instructions. We then set a date for the initial cook date. On cooking day, I will shop for groceries and come to your home for 6 to 8 hours and prepare dinners for a month — 5 entrees and sides times 4. These will be kept in your freezer. The basic service costs $250 plus the cost of the groceries. I always clean up my mess!
Live Alone? Friends Can Share
Sometimes two families or 4 individuals who can agree on menu choices can purchase the service together to bring down the per serving cost.

The Healing Chef
About My Experience
I’ve been cooking and baking since I was 8 years old. My mother – bless her heart – let me make horrible messes and experiments in her kitchen!
By the time I was 12, I had a reputation for inventing recipes. My aunt asked me to stay with her for a couple of weeks to develop some recipes for my cousin who had an ulcer. That was way before they knew that antibiotics can heal ulcers. My aunt had instructions that required eliminating certain foods, and it was my job to figure out a way to make palatable food for my cousin!
When I was 18, I heard a guest on the Phil Donahue show say that the family cook had the power of life or death in her hands — yes, he said “her.” Lol! And ever since, I have been fascinated by the power of food to prevent and heal disease.
I am not a formally trained chef, and I wear the chef “hat” lightly. I spent a good portion of 2016 working for an agency in Westerville Ohio that places people in kitchens. I learned from a wide variety of chefs, and I also discovered all of the non cooking tasks that chefs are responsible for. I am in awe of them after this experience. However, most of what I know about cooking and baking I learned on my own, experimenting in first my mother’s and then my own kitchen.

If you’re interested in learning how to prepare more plant based food, or if you would like me to prepare it for you, let me know.
I cook vegan/vegetarian meals.
My guiding principles:
- To prepare meals that are delicious and nutritious.
- To prepare food that enhances health or helps to heal.
- To not use ingredients that hurt health. For example, I will only use oils/fats that contribute to health. That may vary by individual. For example, not everyone needs to avoid gluten or specific allergens.
- To use whole foods or cultured foods. For example, tempeh is not a whole food, but it is a more digestible form of soy and the culturing process adds nutrients.
- To enhance nutrition or digestibility of food whenever possible. For example, sprouting beans or lentils in advance.
- To use organic whenever possible.
- To not contribute to cruelty to animals.
- To educate anyone who would like to learn how to prepare healthful meals.
In order to live by the above principles, I can’t take shortcuts like purchase premade pie crusts or open cans of beans. All whole grain bread is made from fresh ground wheat or rye berries rather than store bought flour. This will enhance flavor and ensure that no rancid oils exist in the bread, pizza crust or pie crust.

Private or Group Cooking Lessons
Cooking Classes in Your Home
I can come to your home for either private or group lessons. You and your group pay for the groceries for an agreed upon dish. We can do more than one. Depending on the time involved, my service charge can run from $150 to $350 — separate from the grocery charge. We can go to the store together as part of the lesson, or I can purchase the groceries on my way.

Cooking Classes for Non Profits
I’ll consider teaching a non-profit group and take donations from members for my time. The group can cover the cost of agreed upon groceries.
Need Help With Gluten Free or Other Specialty?

Try This First Events:
I collaborate with local healthcare practitioners to come speak to the community about things to try before ending up on lifetime pharmaceuticals. Often, lifestyle changes can help reverse certain conditions, leading to a healthier and better quality of life. If you’re interested in being notified when these happen, join the facebook group. I have in the past provided meals free, but for future events, we may charge for meals.
Nutrition Guidance
I’m a chef, not a nutritionist. However, if you’re looking for nutrition guidance, I can recommend Dr. David Norris in Marietta Ohio.
